General description of the collection: The Fred C. Wallace photograph collection includes an album of the Carolina Maneuvers with the 4th Mechanized Division, showing various aspects and equipment of the field exercises. Most of the other photos are albums and loose photos of Okinawa and the Pacific Islands in 1941-1945. Numerous aerial views of installations and airfields on Okinawa; some land views show U.S. Navy Seabees constructing airfields and dock sites on the island. Photos showing natives and cultural life of the peoples of the Pacific Islands.
